With Ramadan coming around each year, these buffet settings will be the ideal option for both you, your family and friends to enjoy, especially after a long day of fasting, or to celebrate Eid festivities.

5 Restaurants to Discover for the Halal Tourist

  • The Village Buffet

Location: Long Street, Cape Town

Are you ready for a feast? Specifically catered for the halal locals and tourists visiting Cape Town, The Village Buffet offers unlimited drinks, along with an incredible selection of different kinds of foods, which includes sushi, prawns, ribs, pasta, pizza, and Indian cuisine.

Be sure to take note of the popularity of this restaurant. With a rule set in place, referred to as “hot setting”, you can’t sit down for more than 2 hours per meal. However, with a buffet cost of R150 per person, it sure is worth it.

  • Bo-Kaap Kombuis

Location: Bo Kaap, Cape Town

Looking for a cozy, home-like setting to sit, eat, have drinks with friends, but don’t want to do it at your own home? Well, then the Bo-Kaap Kombuis is the perfect place for you. Catered halal, with a Malay style buffet for either smaller groups of people, families or even larger private functions, the Bo-Kaap Kombuis exudes convenience and comfort. Oh, and don’t get us started about the exquisite view of Table Mountain, which can be more regarded as a painting for the restaurant than anything else.

  • Sabrias

Location: Wynberg, Cape Town

For an upmarket spot in town, with an incredible line-up of dishes included in their buffet, at just R155 per person, Sabrias is the place to be on a Sunday afternoon with your family. Serving halal-friendly Middle-Eastern inspired dishes for the local South African and Muslim-tourist.

  • Jimmy’s Killer Prawns

Location: Canal Walk, Cape Town

For the halal-customer, seafood is regarded as extremely high up on the list, and at just R139 for a buffet dinner on Mondays and Wednesdays, a dinner at Jimmy’s Killer Prawns is not to be missed.

The restaurant also serves a buffet dinner on Friday and Saturday nights for R169 per person and a Sunday lunch for R159 per person, making this the ideal popular spot for weekly visits for families at the restaurants.

Location: The Capetonian Hotel, Cape Town
